The Principal Investigator

Dr. Ben Jones is the Principal Investigator for the research project: “Challenging Categories: Educated Unemployed Youth as Institutional Innovators in Rural Uganda.”

He holds a PhD from London School of Economics, an MA Hons from John Hopkins University and a BA Hons from Cambridge University. He is currently an Associate Professor in Development Studies at the School of International Development, at the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom.

He is significantly published. Some of his recent work includes, for example, these two publications that are based on Uganda:

The Challenging Categories research, in fact, builds on his recent British Academy mid-career fellowship MD\170053 in which he investigated the relationship between education and village politics in a rural community in eastern Uganda.
